While this restaurant may not look like much, I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I visited with my boyfriend and his family this past weekend. From what I can tell, the restaurant has gone through some changes in management over the years and is now under the care of a very nice woman named Natasha. The interior does leave much to be desired but hopefully, with time, the new owner(s) will be able to make some upgrades to the business.
We arrived just before closing at 3pm and Natasha catered to us single-handedly. She had mentioned how on slow days she sometimes lets her staff leave a little early but was more than happy to accommodate us if we did not mind waiting a little longer for our food. We were in no rush and kindly accepted.
The restaurant serves your basic American diner staples and breakfast dishes but seeing as Natasha is of Russian descent, also offers some delicious authentic Russian staples; Borsch, Chicken Kiev, and Napoleon Cake (to name a few). I was advised by my boyfriend's family to try the stuffed pork roll and I found it to be deliciously unique in comparison to anything I have ever eaten before. I'm sure the majority of dishes are tasty here, but you really must try some of Natasha's authentic Russian food!
One side note: they lock the bathrooms! This must be a common practice in other cultures, but when you need to use the restroom it is very unwelcoming to have to find a worker and ask for a key and this is certainly one aspect of Buford's I would recommend changing!
Try not to be discouraged by the restaurant's appearance until you give the food a try. It is clear that Natasha prepares her dishes with a lot of love and this shines through in her cooking. My boyfriend and I will certainly return to support Natalia and her business as she was extremely hospitable to us and we thoroughly enjoyed her authentic Russian dishes. -

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place since we moved within walking distance. We finally tried it out this morning and vowed never to return.
The interior is dated, but it's clean and well kept. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. I ordered the blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon, and my husband ordered the breakfast wrap. He said his wrap was "okay," but my pancakes were so undercooked they were liquid on the inside and inedible. The waitress also never brought out the bacon (or ever checked to see how things were). When we got the final bill, the bacon was still listed. When we informed her it never came, she was surprised. We were literally the only two people there, and you couldn't even remember one side? We had to ask her to remove the charge, which she did. There was no apology.
This was a local place we wanted to love (or at least like), but I'm afraid we won't return based on the poor service and even worse food. -

So let's start off with the misleading pictures, guys who ever did the photography for yelp is a wizzard! This restaurant smells like a nursing home.
It isn't dirty per say but not very well kept, the sugar on our table was a solid mass, everything in the restaurant was out dated and miss matched, so ok no big deal all pretty trivial things! We forged on!
Our server who was alerted to our presence in the restaurant by another patron was so sweet and was very attentive and guys she's carrying y'all in this review which is my only negative review on yelp -ever-
Our food was ok, not 8$ eggs good but a solid alright definitely edible. And that's about where my positivity ends. If food quality is your only concern in a restaurant you can skip my next paragraph.
Towards the end of our meal, my dining guest I will add was a 10 year old little girl, got to hear the rants of an older "gentleman" who started lamenting about how immigrants are bad and ruining the country and generally going on about pretty heated political things that are suffice to say not appropriate for public spaces (because weer all just trying to eat, he is entitled to his opinions, however when I am a paying customer I expect that rude conversations that include slurs be stopped by the business owner or employees so I don't have to excuse or explain that language to my child) I am self employed and would do the same in my place of work.
We finished our food, tipped and left, and I don't expect we will ever be back.
3 stars are for service and the pleasant waitress. -

Considering the fact that I've eaten Buford's 4x in 7 days, I think it's safe to say it's my new favorite restaurant. There are a few things that mark a great diner:
1. Portion sizes (+bonus for good pricing!)
I never leave Buford's hungry. I walk to and from there in hopes of compensating my body for putting away so much food. In addition, I can get a good sized breakfast sandwich and a large cup of coffee to go for less than what I spend for smaller portions at Dunks.
2. Service and Atmosphere
Your drinks and overall needs will never go unattended. The restaurant is decorated like a relative's kitchen, which creates a nice feeling of home. The best part is that whether you're a regular or a first-time customer, you will feel welcome with the warm conversations and friendly faces.
3. The coffee!
Every diner needs good coffee. Buford's has it.
4. The food
My food and the food of everyone else I know has always been perfectly cooked. I can make a food-related request (i.e. add an ingredient) and have still had it be perfect. The best part is that it all tastes homemade. It's nice to know that I can still get cooking similar to my mom's without having to try to replicate it myself. -

If you are looking for low cost, home style breakfast, Beauford's is the place to go. You can order breakfast all day and enjoy it with a delicious coffee served by one of their excellent wait staff. The only complaint I have is they literally give you a half a potato worth of home fries, but they are delicious!
